Some of our Success Stories
Gbenga Badejo - I discovered Epe. AgainI visited Epe for the very first time in 2016. I was back this year. On both occasions, what took me to Epe was Liberty - Making People Free, the international Christian outreach whose mandate is to transform communities - body, soul and spirit. Located on the north side of the Lekki Lagoon, Epe is roughly 41 miles from Lagos Island, although travel time could vary from one to three hours depending on traffic. The expressway between Lagos and Epe is probably the liveliest road between any two cities in Nigeria. It boasts of expensive residential estates such as Lekki Phase 1, VGC, Fara Park etc. The expressway is also home to Lagos Business School/Pan African University. It is also the site for Dangote refinery and Lekki Free Trade Zone. (more…)
Toyin Dagiloke - Eye clinicEvery time I go, the Liberty mission trips become more and more rewarding. Working alongside some of the most dedicated doctors, nurses and volunteers in the world; seeing hundreds of Nigerian villagers receive medical attention for the first time in their lives and being a part of the loving team delivering this care is such an honour. As well as the medical work we do, staying in the community and interacting with the children is awe inspiring. They symbolise everything that God was thinking about when He invented the concept of hope for the future. (more…)
Ibukun Aikomo's Liberty experience @ Epe 2016For the past two years I’ve had the opportunity to serve as a missionary with Liberty for its yearly international ministry outreach, my first experience being in the town of Awe of Oyo State and most recently, Epe of Lagos State. I, along with a team of fervid crusaders advanced on a mission to evangelise to particularly undeveloped communities through Christ’s teachings and assisting with resources and support like basic medical care, education and empowerment programmes. This trip involved a lot of hard work, but it was fun. (more…)
Kemi Akinwumi's Liberty experience @ Epe 2016Before As time drew closer to Liberty 2016 the excitement that I was finally doing something I had always wanted to do exploded. However, fear crept in.
- Was I spiritually prepared for the journey ahead?
- Am I worthy enough?
- Was I really going to pray for people to come to Christ?
- What about my own struggles?
- Am I too young? (more…)
Tola Adeshina's Liberty experience @ Epe 2016I had always desired to go on a Christian mission trip but I never had the chance too. But this year 2016, I was determined to close the gap on this desire. I heard about the Liberty mission during my church service at EP. They were having a summer fair to raise money for the cause. I enquired about the Liberty mission from Pastor Akin and Kemi Akinwumi and after speaking to them both, I was sure that I wanted to go. (more…)
